Valve confirms the existence of employee handbook
Valve have revealed what is written in their employee handbook.
The 56-page guide which is given to new Valve employees outlines a business which isn't run by a corporate hierarchy but allows every employee to win and fail by their own decisions.
The book is constantly being updated by employees, both old and new, and is intended to give the impression that everybody in the company is equally important. A successful employee should follow a T-shaped model, meaning that they are an expert in one field and knowledgeable in others.
Valve's handbook also admits that new employees won't receive much help upon arriving, and are required to think fast on their feet in order to remain working at Valve. They also put a large amount of focus on hiring new talent.
