As you can see above, upcoming Xbox 360 title Child of Eden is a tough one to categorise and there’s only one way to really get a true understanding of what it’s all about: you have to play Rez.
Rez was released way back in 2001 for the Dreamcast and PS2 and then made it onto Xbox 360 in 2008 as a graphically-upgraded download, imaginatively titled Rez HD. Dreamt up by visionary games designer Tetsuya Mizuguchi, Rez was much-loved title within the gaming community and Rez HD still holds an aggregate review score of 89%.
Pretty impressive stuff and a tough game to follow! According to the man himself, Child of Eden will be the spiritual successor to Rez and throughout the levels you can see how much influence his earlier hit has had on this new iteration, albeit with some exciting new changes.
